Bob MawsonBob serves as chair of Trustees for Richland United Methodist Church.

Gail Compton

Gail serves on the Administrative Council as Treasurer of Richland United Methodist Church. She and husband Rick are also very active as facilitators of Financial Peace University. Whenever we need Gail and Rick, they are ready to serve.

Shirley Bovay

Shirley is the chairperson of our Administrative Council. She is glad to answer questions or point you in the right direction if you need help.

 

Marteen Nolan

Marteen is the current chair of our Pastor Parrish Relations Committee. A gifted business woman and science teacher, Marteen comes to us with a host of professional and people skills.

Flo Jarchow

Flo is the Lay Leader of Richland United Methodist. She is essential to the ministry and spiritual growth of our congregation. She is a true servant-leader and offers love and support, vision, and all her many gifts in service to the Lord.

Flo spends much time in prayer for our congregation and our community and world. She has led Bible studies, served as chair of Administrative Council, and on PPR. The daughter of a Methodist minister, Flo understands what it means to support both the pastor and his family as well as be available as a friend to all.

Her experience in personnel management and counseling make her an ideal Lay Leader for our church.

Alan Davison

Alan Davison handles our financial affairs. He is a long-time member of our church, and a retired Army officer.

Mitch Henson

Before he became the pastor of Richland UMC, Pastor Mitch Henson served as a Worship Leader for nearly 20 years. In 2014, Mitch earned a Masters of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. On June 4th, 2016 he will be ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church.

Pastor Mitch has been a life-long member of the United Methodist Church. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, his family moved to St. Charles, Missouri, in 1976. In 1987 he moved to Springfield where he earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Communications at Missouri State University. He began his first career at Bass Pro Shops. Joining the company as a scuba diver cleaning aquariums, he later took on the position of Live Exhibits manager, overseeing all their aquarium and live animal displays across the country. In 2004 he married his wife Amber and moved to Auburn, Alabama, where she earned her PhD in Psychology. After Auburn they lived in New Haven, Connecticut, and Jackson, Mississippi, before moving to Rolla, Missouri, where Amber works as a professor of psychology for MS&T.

Mitch and Amber have a young daughter, Erin. Mitch loves to spend time with his family, golf, scuba dive and play music.

Susan Hand

Susan Hand, youth leader, currently teaches 6th grade at Richland Elementary School. A long-time member of the church, Susan comes to the job of youth leader with great enthusiasm and an abiding love for family. Her mother Naomi Breazeale is in charge of our Blessings in a Backpack program and helps with the youth as well. We are lucky, indeed, to have Susan join our volunteer staff in 2015.

 

Marilyn Folkert

Marilyn has been certified in safe sanctuary procedures by the Methodist Church, and welcomes children from newborn to age 5 into our nursery/play area each Sunday. Parents are asked to sign children in and out and fill out basic information so that our staff can better provide care.
